Lake Vouglans

Lake Chalain & Hérisson Waterfalls
The turquoise blue waters of Chalain and the Hérisson Valley (a series of 31 waterfalls, including the Éventail and Grand Saut) offer a spectacular day out in nature on the Route des Lacs, with marked trails, viewpoints and footbridges close to the water. Depending on the season, the waterfalls reveal their full power, while the beaches of Chalain are ideal for swimming and picnics. Ideal for families staying at your campsite, with short or more challenging loops for hikers, easily combined with a trip to the campsite near Lake Vouglans.

Eagle Peak & 4 Lakes Viewpoint
At 993 m, the view is spectacular over Ilay, Narlay, Petit & Grand Maclu, the Hérisson valley and, on a clear day, as far as Mont Blanc. Marked trails offer short loops (for families) or more challenging routes, with secure viewing platforms offering 360° panoramic views. The site is magical at sunrise and sunset (with sublime colours on the lakes); bring closed shoes and water. Car parks are available near the trailheads, with picnic tables and photo spots along the route.
